TOKYO – Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) announced that cumulative sales of the PlayStation 3 (PS3) reached 50 million units worldwide since its launch the first time.
SCE also announced that the PlayStation Move beyond the sale of up to 8 million units worldwide. This Japanese company showed continued growth and momentum of the PS3 platform.
PS3 system, equipped with the proven technology of the future of advanced including Cell Broadband Engine and RSX processors and Blu-ray disc player and HDMI, which has provided users with quality high-definition entertainment since its launch in November 2006. So that was launched Scoop, Friday (15/04/2011).
PS3 system continues to evolve and improve the user experience through new features and services provided through software updates.
Along with the introduction of the PS3, SCE launched PlayStationNetwork service which now has more than 75 million registered accounts and operates in 59 countries and territories around the world.
PlayStation Network supports free online games and community-centric communication tools such as the PlayStation 3 Home, and offers an extensive digital content downloaded via the PlayStation Store, ranging from games to movies more than 32,840 content.
